42 m Expedition / Explorer, by Patrick Bray Design

This long-range motoryacht will be based primarily in the Mediterranean for a client who enjoys extensive outdoor activities. There is spacious accommodation for 14 guests and up to 10 crewmembers. It has a super fuel-efficient, semi-displacement hull form that is a progression of our extensively tank tested hull technology to ensure superior powering characteristics and seakeeping. The hull is a conically projected, double chined form with wide spray knocker, flared bow, and a transom stern. It is longitudinally framed with wide spaced transverse frames for maximum strength and ease of construction.
Advanced technology appendages, including a bulbous bow, midship bulb, stern bulb, fixed/active stabilizers, and a bi-foil under each propeller, are the features that make this vessel unique. In addition these features give the vessel superior seakeeping ability as well as having double the range of stability of other vessels.
This vessel has in excess of a Trans-Atlantic range at 12 knot cruise as well as being capable of higher semi-displacement speeds for local cruising.
